Ixtapa, Mexico

Ixtapa Vacation Spots
Ixtapa is a beach resort in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Ixtapa is a short 3 mile drive to the small fishing village of Zihuatanejo and 152 miles northwest of Acapulco. For those that love paradise and affordable vacationing, Ixtapa is a must!

Casa de Islas
“Papa, desde el cielo, esta feliz que estemos en el lugar que el, con mucho amor, construyo para nosotros”. – Gloria Islas

Casa de Islas was built by the love of our dad in 2008 for the enjoyment of our family. We are forever grateful for our dad and the humble abode he left us. This piece of paradise allows us to vacation affordably, enjoy quality time together, and create memories to last a lifetime. Because this beautiful home is left vacant 11 months out of the year, we would like to extend Casa de Islas, to our family and amigas and amigos, so you too can enjoy Ixtapa affordably and make lasting memories.

Casa de Islas is a cozy corner unit townhome nested in the exclusive neighborhood of Morrocoy in Ixtapa. This is a gated community with 24 hour security.

Casa de Islas is 1000 sq ft and sleeps up to 6 comfortably. Features include a full kitchen, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, den, air conditioning, and swimming pool right outside in the private courtyard.

Master bedroom has a full size bed; Guest room includes two single beds; Mudroom/den includes 2 air mattresses with full bedding and private shower.

A small shopping plaza lies within the community. Plaza includes laundry service, small restaurants, convenience store, and liquor store.

City buses and taxies to local beaches in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are available at Morrocoy’s entrance. A taxi will cost approximately $7 USD each way. Travel time from door step to beaches will take 5 – 6 minutes.

Azul Resort Playa Linda
Visiting Casa de Islas took some convincing before we decided to go. Like fellow Americans, we had concerns with enjoying vacation while safety was a concern, but this feeling of uneasiness quickly changed. As soon as we arrived in Ixtapa, for the first time in 2009, there was no indication of the area being unsafe. The locals were welcoming; The scenery was breathtaking; The service was impeccable! This was our best vacation by far!

After our first vacation to Ixtapa, we got married in 2010, and shortly after in 2011, our father passed. A year later, our daughter was born and in the same year we bought a home and started renovating the new house…I am sure you can imagine how time flew. Finally this past month, we found our way back to Ixtapa!

During our visit, we kept saying to ourselves, “Why did we wait this long to come back? We need to come back every year”. Lo and behold, while on this last trip, we were invited to Azul Resort where we were given an awesome opportunity to become members. So now, yours truly are members of the beautiful Azul, and we are thrilled to extend another vacation spot in Ixtapa to our famila and amigas and amigos.

Azul is one of the best beach-luxury resorts in Mexico. Azul Resort is located on Playa Linda Boulevard right along the beach. Directly behind Azul Resort is Isla Ixtapa, which is known for scuba diving and water sports. (Islas Ixtapa is only a short 3 minute/$4 boat ride.) The resort offers theatrical shows, restaurants, direct access to Isla Ixtapa, swim up bars, tennis courts, kids: swimming pool, playground, soccer field, arts & crafts, rock climbing wall, on site doctor and nanny, and plenty more amenities and services...

Azul members have access to an exclusive tower which features oversized rooms, all with spectacular beach views and personalized service. Rooms begin to sleep 2 and can accomodate up to 8 depending on configuration and rooms reserved.
